BANG Radio, in collaboration with Riddim Radio in Jamaica, delivered RiddimUP Live—a dynamic event that brought the best of emerging reggae talent to the UK in 2014.

RiddimUP Live was a resounding success, captivating audiences in both London and Bristol. The event featured the acclaimed Dre Island from Kingston, Jamaica, as the headliner.

Held at The Forge in Camden, the London event offered a unique experience, beginning with daytime discussions, networking opportunities, and cultural stalls, and culminating in an evening concert showcasing top UK artists alongside Dre Island.

The event was a celebration of the cultural impact of reggae music and its growing popularity across Europe. It also served as a platform to introduce Dre Island’s unique sound to London audiences. The success of RiddimUP Live was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the BANG Radio team, young people, and interns, who played pivotal roles in bringing this project to life.

To ensure maximum exposure, we launched an extensive on-air campaign starting four weeks before the event.

A key highlight of our promotional efforts was a series of artist interviews, which not only generated excitement for the event but also provided artists with an opportunity to share their music and stories with a broader audience. Our “RiddimUP Live Record of the Week” segment, featuring tracks from the event’s lineup, was a hit with listeners.

To further elevate Dre Island’s presence, we collaborated with top reggae DJs to create exclusive mixes of his music, which were broadcast during key slots.

Special segments, including a Dre Island music special, added to the event’s buzz, ensuring that the excitement reached audiences far and wide. The artist interviews, featuring Dionne Reid, JJ Soul X, Dre Island, and Subajah, were standout elements of our coverage.

With a strong turnout and an overwhelmingly positive reception, RiddimUP Live proved to be a landmark event in the UK’s reggae scene.
